I´m looking for a stronger (100+ amps) alternator. Does anyone know about one that fits without having to convert the engine to a serpentine belt design.
I have a -76 350 engine with the older beltdesign and don´t want to change it if I don´t have to.

I have a 140 amp GM alternater. It is out of a pontiac transport wagon with the dual AC. It comes a cerpentine set up but a v-drive pulley bolts on to it. It kinda fits in the stock location (no drilling or welding, just shoving). A new pig tail and upgrade the primary loop and you are on your way. There are a bunch of threads so it should be easy to search. Try "high amp alternator" or "pontiac alternator"

I got an alternator once for a early 80s Buick Estate wagon I think I know it was a Buick wagon anyway it was factory rated at 110 amps

I run one from Auto Zone, 94 amps, from a 84-85 one ton diesel. Go there and ask to pull up several on the computer. Life time warranty too.
