I would like to replace my current Flowmaster 40 series with something quiter but I do not know where to start. I've looked at Summit and there are a gazillion different mufflers to choose from. My engine is a 383 Stoker/headers so it pushes quite a bit of air. I do not care about price I just want something that will not restrict flow but the sound is very manageable. Preferably quite.
Thanks for your help>>>>

I have a Gibson muffler and love it. Alot less noise than a flowmaster but definately has a roar when on the skinny pedal. When i bought mine about 6 years ago it was 100.00 then. You also did not say if you have a single exhaust or not but a single 3" exhaust will produce more low end torque than a dual exhaust while staying quiter.

Try this link, http://www.gibsonexhaust.com/dci.html The part number is 788025 in case it doesn't link you directly.

I really like my 50 series. I believe its 2 @ 2.25 in and 1 @ 3" out. quiet but still has the flowmaster sound to it and when you get on it it's happy
