I finally bought my first full size blazer about a month ago and am running into a few hickups finishing up the last few things of the build. I have a few questions so i'll just post them all in one thread. I have to replace the window regulator on the driver side door. I pulled all the hardware and messed around with it for about an hour and couldn't really get anywhere with it if anyone has knowledge of completing that task or links to somewhere with a better explanation than the chiltons manual that I have. When I turn on my windshield wipers they are running backwards. They start to run down then back up instead of up then down. Any knowledge would be very helpful thanks a lot.

I didn't think there was any such thing as finished. I thought that was in the same fairytale book between the unicorns and the pot of gold.

Sorry, I haven't dealt with any window or wiper issues except my rear window.

Lets see some pics of your new rig :thumb:

You may have bolted the motor in when the wipers were in the wrong spot, or the motor wasnt turned in the right direction. Unbolt the motor, leaving power hooked up, turn it on and turn it off, let it settle to however it sits, make sure the wipers are all the way down like normal, then bolt it back up and try that.

Someone told me something similar to that with the wiper motor. I'll give it a try today after the Seahawks, Falcons game. Thanks.

I pulled the wiper motor and the arm was off 180 degrees works perfect now. Just the window regulator is left.

And on the window regulators, them things are a PITA to say the least. Take the motor off the regulator very carefully. Prop the window up with a screwdriver through one of the various holes in the door skin. If you do not hold the window up, it will say hello to your hands as you take the motor out, and its not a friendly hello, its more of a Hi I want a divorce and Im taking the house and the car type hello. Once the motor is out, you can slowly lower the window until the regulator wheels come out of the cut slots in the window channel. Then take the glass out, and pull the regulator out.

Edit Scratch that, Im pretty sure the motor is riveted to the regulator, which seriously is stupid. New ones bolt in, which is seriously smart. You will have to finagle it until you can get the glass off the regulator first, then pull the whole assembly out through the top. I found it easier to take the weather stripping out sometimes, if its being a little a$$hat.

I got the regulator changed out finally. I pulled the screws out of the top of the door that hold the tracks in. pulled all the bolts holding the tracks on and the bracket for bottom bolt for the side mirror. Pulled the window out then unbolted the regulator and pulled it out of the big hole in the upper left of the door panel. Definetly a huge pain in the a$$, my cousin and I dropped the motor in in the time it took me to do that. Thanks for all your input though. Just exhaust, front drive line and back blinker problem left then she'll be ready for the streets.
