I have all 3/4" copper for my air lines and just replaced my 3/8" reels with 1/2". Now I need the coupling for 1/4" nips to fit in. Ideas? I went to Grainger and they can get them, but it was like weeks.

Any home center or hardware store ,plumbing supply, etc, should have pipe thread couplers that are 1/4" on one end,and whatever size thread you need on the other end..this will allow a coupler with 1/4" NPT threads to screw onto the hose or air supply pipe threads..

Eww, yeah, seems like 1/2" NPT x 1/4" coupler is an odd thing. McMaster doesn't list them at all that I can find.

Think you're gonna be adapting the 1/2" down to 3/8" and using your existing couplers.

I found one and bought it. It was only short term, looking to update my fittings to high flow.

I've been down a similar route recently. At the ends where I intended to interface with common air tools, I used common brass NPT adapters to mount Milton V style couplers. Not the absolute best for high flow, but I don't have the line losses to deal with, I do get noticeably higher flow when using V-couplers on both sides, and the more common standard Milton couplers I've been using for years also fit. Then for the real high flow needs (mainly sand blast cabinet) I use high flow 1/2" industrial couplers.
