I am looking for an air pump and the mounting brackets for an 83 chevy truck with a 454. The compleate set of brackets (i.e. alternator, ps pump, smog pump, idler/tensioner, etc...) would be great.

There is no A/C and I have a serpentine belt set up on it now.

The truck came from the factory with a 6.2L and I put the 454 in and need to get it to pass emissions in Colorado.

The air pump does not need to work, I only need the pump to pass a visual emmissions inspection.

Local pick up prefered.

Thanks :waytogo:

Did you get what you needed? I have an '86 k10 with one that I am parting but it will be gone soon.

Thanks for the offer 6872xtc, but Palasades is a little far to drive for an air pump.

I do still need one...the more parts is has the better...i.e. brackest, hoses, etc. :waytogo:

Do you have a picture of what it looks like? I have a box of things and I believe there is one in there

I do still need the air pump parts...

I do not have a picture or know exactly what the brackets look like. The truck had a 6.2L in it orignaly...I put a 454 in it...to pass the visual for emissions I must have an air pump that looks like it works.

The 454 has a serpentine belt on it.

I belive the air pump mounts on the front upper passenger side of the block and the belt tenssioner sits close to the middle...above the water pump....but not sure

If I could get some of the orignal brackest I should be able to modify them to get it to work.

if the big block is anything line the small block serpentine setups, I've always seen the AC on top passenger and the smog pump on bottom passenger. A lot of serpentine belt setups never came with smog pumps, mostly only cars (in CA junkyards I notice).

Do you have AC? And I thought you didn't have to smog a diesel truck, unless you already admitted to putting a gas motor in.

The truck does not have A/C.

I did get away with no emissions for a few years but now I have to get emissions and re-title it to a gas truck.

I am still looking for these parts

I am in the process of getting the truck inspected and re-titled with the engine swap.....then I will need an emissions test.

The truck is an K3500 so all I need for the visual part of the emissions test is a smog pump, according to the inspector.

Thanks for the offer.....let me see waht I can find at the yard...It is a
"V" style pully right. I may still be able to use the pump and just out a serpentine pully on it.

What exactly do you need ? I just took all the brackets and pulleys and air pump off an 1985 454. the belt system was v belt and serpentine. I cannot remember what the air pump was but will know Tuesday morning when I go back to work. You are more than welcome to the air pump, and its mounting brackets. pm me with your phone number and we will discuss on the phone to make sure were on the same page of what you need.
