Long story story my old ip was leaking and the shop replaced it. My throttle now surges when im driving and my rpms will randomly increase and decrease. Sometimes it has all the power in the world off the line, sometimes nothing. Is it worth screwing with or should I bring it right back and expect them to fix it free of charge? Its been about a month and ive only driven the truck a handful of times hoping it would go away. Thoughts?

before my injection pump started leaking it did the sometimes power/sometimes none and constant surge thing. once it started leaking i replaced it now it runs super smooth and consistent. i'd bring it back.

Probably did not bleed the air out. I wouldn't just expect them to, I would demand it. So I'm guessing they didn't run it, test drive it after the work, or didn't care it ran like poop when they were done.

But if you wanted, you could try cracking injector lines while it's running- if there's air in the system. If it was IP timing I would assume it would run like poop constantly.

It may have air sneaking into a loose fuel line fitting or at a rubber hose where its clamped, fuel filter base, etc, not enough to make a noticeable drip or leak, but let air get sucked into the fuel lines which will cause symptoms like that, usually hard starts too--you'll need to crank it over longer than normal to get it fired up and it will run lousy, then it may run ok or erratically depending on how much air gets into the fuel...it could be they disturbed a line somewhere when they replaced the pump...

You can splice in a length of clear fuel line tubing to the return line on the injector pump, and watch for air bubbles while its running,if there are some its likely its getting in somewhere between the fuel tank and IP...

Have you checked for any water or other crud in the fuel too?...could be that causing the issue..

Has the same tank from before they got it. As far as i can tell they just made sure it idled and didnt drive it. The only time you can maybe detect it at idle is sometimes the idle will surge up, but you'd only know that if you knew the truck. It doesnt run crappy all the time, when Im driving at a constant throttle, it feels like theres a gremlin under the hood messing with the throttle from there and fighitng me. They'll get it back tomorrow morning.
