Ok so I finally sold my CJ-5 so I have the money to build my 1988 K-5 into a capable on/off-road rig. It is currently stock, but the plans are as follows: 4" Rough Country lift with new springs (no Blocks), 34 x 10.50 LTBs on cheapie black steel rims, possibly welding the spider gears in the rear diff it is even possible since it has the factory positrac. Obviously I should go the 60/14FF route but would like to keep costs down, and if the 10 bolts will hold up to the 34s i prefer to keep them till they NEED replaced. Do the plans seem like they will hold up? Any advice will be considered and is greatly appreiciated. I need to start ordering parts quick before the wife realizes there is actually money in our account. Oh yeah....will these upgrades i have planned hold up at Tellico or Morris mountain?

Well...as always the 10B are the weak link.

You can look at my link 88Silverado and see what I did to my 88 that was reasonable in price and seems to wheel pretty good as-is. Its a start.

great looking blazer, thanks for that link. About how much lift did you end up? I was under the impression that if i go with about 4 inches of lift i shouldnt run into any vibration/clearance issues. Thanks again. Oh yeah i am originally from central ca. Visalia/Exeter to be exact.

Its a 4" lift. Shackle Flip with stock rear springs and 4" front springs. I had to drop the rear of the xfer case to reduce the drivetrain vibe. Now I only feel it for a second when I accelerate from a stop. I had to do ever so slight trim on the front fender with the 33" and I know I will need to trim a little more with the 35's just havent had it fledex out yet with the new tires to see just where and how much. BTW its my daily driver.
