need burban rearend help please

hello i bought a 96 1500 burban, 5.7, auto, 4x4, and im trying to find out what year range that rearend came in so i can look for a used one. any help would be appreciated

I don't know how early of years, but I would think possibly '92- 2000. I don't know if the coil spring rear started before 2001.

For one that will bolt right in to replace the original,any junkyard should be able to look up what other years & models interchange ,they have Hollender manuals or computer software that has all that info..

If yours is a 4x4 you'll need a matching ratio to your original too,to retain its 4wd ability,because if the front and rear diff dont have matching ratios,it'll just bind up in 4wd..

I am pretty sure 88-98 are the same.
