Need DD help..

I have a problem with my dd. It is a 96 s10 blazer, 4.3, auto, and 4x4 with 182k on it. The problem started about 3 days ago on the way home from work. I drive about 45 miles each way. The problem starts about 5 miles into my trip (either way) and lasts for about 2 miles, then goes away and is fine for the rest of the trip. It all of a sudden starts shaking like one of my tires is way out of balance. Once it starts it will do it at any speed. I thought it might be the trans so today when it did it I went from od into drive (still did it), even put in netrual and let it coast (still did it). Its hard to tell where it is coming from. Maybe the front? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Had the same problem with a Ford f250 4x4. The transfercase was trying to engage at speed. It ended up being the sending unit to the transfer case. Put a new one in and sensor and never had it again.

It sounds even more like that seeing as you put it in nuetral and still happened which would happen because it is stuill trying to engage the front.

I replace the transfer case switch and it works great. 4 days later this new proplem started. Yesterday on the way home and today on the way to work, It still started shaking but not as bad and for a shorter period of time. I have no idea...

Is the ECU throwing any codes? that you know of?
 
No codes that i know of. No engine light. Everything seems to be running perfect when the problem happens. It wasn't to bad yesterday on the way home and on the way to work today. Just feels like a tire is way out of balance for a couple of mins. then everything is fine.

I am stumped.

Buut one thing I have learned is that the simplest thing is usually the problem. Check the tires. If you have a spare change it for one of your tires. see if it happens. Continue through the tires and wither you will find the problem or it will eliminate the tires.

I Can't think of much else that would cause it.
 
Thanks for the help. I am stumped as well as everybody else. I will try switching the tires around and see if that helps. Maybe someone else on here might have an idea also? Thanks.
 
Turns out it was a brake caliper hanging up. Replaced it yesterday, everything seems to be good to go. Thanks for the help.
