I’m having to rebuild my freshly rebuilt 6.2 (a Diesel Depot POS) and I need to find a Kentmore or Snap On diesel timing meter. Does anyone have one that I could borrow, rent or buy?
Thanks,
John

Its just as easy to do the initial timing and then drive it to the dealer and get the rest done if you need it.

It cost me $30 to pay a shop to set the timing a few years back... compared to the $600+ for the tool it was a bargain. Setting the base timing is done by aligning the two timing marks.

I had not thought about taking it to the dealer. I'll have to check to see if they even have a timing meter. None of the diesel shops in my area have one. I've seen them on e-bay every once and a while for about $100. I'd buy one for that, time my engine (and reset the marks) then sell it...

There are two on ebay right now!

I'm buying the $100.00 one as soon as the seller approves the international shipping bit.

You do realize it's for a 2.0 l GM diesel right? That is the 4 banger they use in Britich and Autralian cars. ( Vauxhaul and Holden)
DO you know for a fact it will work for the 6.2/6.5 l GM diesel?

Must be looking at the wrong one there -- This is a Snap On meter used on engines equipped with the stanadyne rotary injection pumps. Includes 6.2 / 6.5 GM diesels & I believe some 7.3 / 6.4 Ford Powerstrokes
