What tranny and t-case would come in a '96 S10 ZR2 with the 4.3 Vortec? :o

4L60E and a np233 (electric shift np231)

Ok Kreskin! What came in my 1974 K5 1/2 ton with a 350? I don't know how to tell t-cases. Is it a 203, 205 or 208? :dunno:

74 was an oddball year. You could have a Turbo 350 with an NP203, or a NP465 with an NP203. If I remember right, that was the only year that GM offered the manual trans with a full time t-case.

208's weren't even made in '74, so the only way to have one of those under it would be if someone did a swap.

A'ight, awesome.... Now, could someone give me a ballpark figure what an NP233 would sell for, in good/operating condition?

And could someone also give me a ballpark figure as to what a 2-month-old rebuilt 4L60E would sell for....?

Does a 4.3 has the same bellhousing bolt pattern as a 305/350? (In other words, would this tranny work behind a small block?)

Yes it will work behind a small block. All 90 degree V engines from Chevy (4.3 V6, small block, big block) have the same bellhousing pattern.

Used to be S10's got transmissions with less clutches and things to make the case smaller so it would fit in the smaller trucks. Might want to check and see if that's still true.

a 233 with the electric shift motor should go for around $125. The 4L60-E you have is the newr version with a removable bellhousing. If you still have all the paper work on the rebuild figure maby 500-700 dollars. Take a look on ebay that will help give you a better idea what these things are going for
