last night my oldest girl Madison (10 yrs old) asks "do you have a spare motor?" confused by this I said sure a 90 sbc from the burb, she grinned and she said. can I have it? I was happy and nervous at the same time but now I had to ask. why do you want my motor? she replied with a big smile, I want to build it silly.......I asked for what???? I want to learn how they work so when I get my atv(she's saving up for a 90cc kawi) I can rebuild my motor if it needs it. ****! I cant tell my kid I don't know how to build a motor, i need an engine kit to build a 355,i have someone who will do the machine work for me, I know the internal parts but have never built a motor....

both girls(7 and 10) can spray ppg Omni and single stage and do light mig welding

first WOW, sounds like they'll be teaching tech classes before long!

Grab a "how to rebuild book"
there is too much detail to throw it all out here.
If you have a machinist, he can guide you through a lot as well.
Let him pick the parts as most machinists are picky about doing the machine work without having at least the pistons in their hand.
He should be able to put together a combo of parts to achieve the goal you want as well. matching parts is important for good end results.

Something like this is a good starting reference manual:

1 of my older friends said your raising boys, I said no. I haven't forced them to do anything they haven't asked to play/learn about(with the little I know about).
