Hi Guys. Right now I have a 72 with the old smallblock crosmember and a 75 454 big block sitting on top of it, and its hitting the firewall. I want to get the right big block crossmember and triangle shaped pieces the engine mounts on in mid-to late 70's and match the right crossmember to the engine. From what I read, its just a matter of drilling some holes in the frame. Anyone have those triangle shaped pieces? I could use the original crossmember too, or use one of Offroad designs, but either way I need those frame mount pieces.
PM me.
Thanks!
Eric

I have a 79 that still has the cross member in it.I don't if it has what you need but I will try to post a pic when I get home from work today.

is this what you are asking for

Thats it.

Those are the ones. :DI need that triangle shaped piece stuck into the frame on each side that the engine mount is bolted onto. How do they look? No cracks?
I also need that crossmember, or if there are any cracks or damage to it then I can get the Offroad Designs crossmember instead. How does it look? And how much do you want for them?

The pic is a small block set up. I do not know if the cross member is different or if its just the motor mounts on a big block.I know the cross members ord makes big block & small block are different. The big block one I believe gives you more pan clearance.
I know a 2 wheel drive truck the engine sits off the fire wall and a 4x4 is tight against the fire wall.
Have you tried moving the one you have forward.

I looked at moving it forward, but it would require a lot of hole drilling, adjusting the trans crosmember position, brake lines would need to be rebended, etc. I thought if I changed to the style engine mount in your photo, it would lower the engine a little but not forward or back, which would in my case get it off the frewall but not require adjusting all the other stuff. Plus, I've heard its a better motor mount design. The triangle shaped pieces are, I think, the same whether they are for the small block or big block. I think its just the crossmember that is different.
