I want a reliable stick shift blazer. Reasonable to drive on the road and capable on the trail. I want it tough enough to drive me home every time out. It must be stick shift, with modest size tires (33's or 35's). How do you think I should start, (1) SM465 with tall axel gears and a deep reduction transfer case, or (2) NV4500 and 4.11 or 4.56 axels and standard transfer case? What's your vote? Thanks.

I have a '73 with the 465 trans 205 transfer, dana 44 front,12 bolt rearboth with 4.10 gears and detriot lockers.I drive this all over cruises great. It is alittle loose in corners because I don't run a swaybar.I have 33" swamper TSLs.I do break stuff sometimes.Usually U-joints easy to fix.I am planning on doing the doubler from ORD.Brady

If you post what are the gear reductions of each tranny and what engine you have we could help better.
