Need fast help with guage cluster install

Ugh, there could be a few I think...I've heard different anyways.

4WD indicator, ECM (not on my '91) and of course the passenger side somewhere (as installed) has that fiber optic wire, but I'm assuming you don't mean that. Now if you are diesel, I think there were a couple more hard wired, water in fuel and glow plug light, or whatever it is.

Should be able to turn the truck on and see if the light comes on. If it doesn't, it's probably for 4wd...engage and see if it comes on, assuming the switch works.

Wtf is that fiber optic wire for?

And I'm pretty sure that the light I'm talking about is either useless or is 4wd engage which does work on my truck anyway...

fiber optic is for the ash tray, see the thread in the 73-91 forum if you really care about it lol. :)

Only non-illumination lights I can think of (not diesel) are the turn signals, ebrake (neither hard wired) CEL (not hard wired on the '91's), choke (don't believe that was hard wired) and 4WD which is also not hard wired on the '91's.

I *think* the 4wd lights were hardwired for quite awhile though, I know they were up until at least 1980. Of all I can think of, that's my guess.

you ever fig it out. need to install dash asap. my 4x switch doesn't work and not wasteing time with it if its not the suspect light in first place.

My '88 still has a hard wired "4 wheel drive" light, it goes in the area of the speedo. The fiber optic one goes in the upper right corner, IIRC.

4x4 indicator light has a brown wire with a white stripe and a white wire going into the bulb socket. Grounding the white wire should turn the bulb on
