Hey guys just getting ready to install the front 3/4 ton 10 bolt with the 4.10's  now just so that i dont have any snags what size u bolts do i need? I usually go to a truck spring shop to get them made so no worries there but i know the front is different with the one bolt on the pumpkin. So if anyone knows the measurments i can go get em made for the weekend:bow: thanks guys

All I have are dana axles, but if anyone knows if they are the same, I'll send you the measurements from my 44

3 5/8 wide inside of threads to inside of threads, 8 1/2 from the center of the u on the inside to the end of the threads.

2 3/4 wide, 7 1/2 same

All bolts are 5/8 and had about 1" extra threads

older d44s have smaller tubes, don't they? 2.75 vs 3", i think. i think 74 was the transition year.

This correct, however I think the transition year is later(around 1977).
Older Dana 44 have the 2.75" axle tubes.
Newer Dana 44 and 10 bolts have 3" axle tubes.
Be sure to use the correct spring plates also. The later spring plates have the holes spaced apart for the 3" inch tubes.
I have fought trying to put a later model Dana 44 with the wrong u-bolts and spring plates many times, and the work is much easier with the correct hardware.
