In the past, I have contacted Skyler since rumor had it that they were back in business but I have never received a response from them so I am assuming they are NOT in business period. And... since people seem to want a fortune for a good used Skyler on Ebay, I think I am going to try to build my own soft top.
I talked to the local truck tarp shop that I use regularly for tarps, about trying to build the top for me and he thought no problem. Shouldn't be hard anyway, it's a pretty simple canvas tarp on the Skylers.
What I need, is GOOD pics of the mounting hardware of a Skyler. The rails down the bedsides, the tailgate attachment point, and what it is that goes over the cab opening. I am thinking of building the rails that will bolt to the K5 out of aluminum and using velcro for attaching the tarp to the tarp frame.
Or......... if someone has a CLEAN skyler top they want to sell, or know of one for sale that isn't priced super high, I could be interested.
