in regards to my 69 c10. Would mid length headers be better than long tube? Truck is lowered but not slammed.

I have always had long tubes on my 2wd trucks. I have only hit a collector on one speed bump. It was very tall, by the Freightliner dealer in Phoenix, back in 1988. That was on my old '68 C10, stock springs.
I still have those headers on my '72 that is lowered 2". No problems around here, but no nasty speed bumps anymore, and I know what to watch for.

Mid length will cause problems if you use factory automatic transmission shift linkage. I don't know what other things could be good or bad with mid length, maybe check around the transmission pan area for clearance???

I’m probably going with long tube. I was just wondering about th mid length.
Thanks

My buddy has hedman long tubes in his 71 C10. It's dropped 5/6. We've had a couple minor scrapes. I'm almost to the installation point of a LT1 in my 67 GMC C15. I have mid length that came with the truck.

One thing to consider:

Long tubes are supposed to be better for upper RPM, and shorter for lower

if I was doing a c10, I’d probably run shorties, transition into 2.5” duals. From there I’d run back behind the seat, go 3” into the mufflers, then out the back

Exhaust is one of those things you think about over and over and hope to get it right the first time (at least me anyway) that perfect combination of performance, sound, good clearances, serviceability, low drone, minimal heat soak.
That’s where I’m at with my 89’ anyway. Been putting it off cause it’s hard to nail all those on the first go around, after it’s all done I usually say “I should have done that, or I should have went with that.” ...and those are the reasons a project will never be finished lol.

I've learned that it's beyond my pay grade. I trust my exhaust guy. "Tone not drone" and leave the rest up to him. Perfect every time.

He's running 15x8 front and rear. We needed to run spacers in the front to keep the control arms from eating the wheel weights off the inner rim. The rear tires are tire biggest option in a 60 series.

probably not to important, but the regular BFG TA is a S speed rating. Good enough for most of us, on our old trucks. May be a few who would go faster.

I’m thinking this for my 69
15x8 steel with dog dish hubcaps..
275/60/15 rear
235/70/15 front
BFG radial T/a
