My heater keeps going out. Which also makes my a/c non working. Keeps blowing the fuse. Ive replaced the fan and a crap load of fuses. Help needed fast!

First check the ground to the motor, at both ends, and replace if it looks the least bit corroded. If that doesn't solve the problem, at least on mine, I found that my switch is going out and if I keep it below high I never blow the fuse. I really need to replace the switch buy I am lazy and feel the trans is more important.

Also check the motor itself and see if it is bad, just run a positive wire from the battery direct to the motor. If it sparks or doesn't start up there is probably a problem with the motor.

Try cleaning all the connections, and if it doesn't work on high, it's usually the relay for the high blower.

You have not mentioned what year your truck is or where the fuse is located that you are blowing. In the older trucks the Fuse for the blower is on the firewall distribution block and is the old glass type fuse. Every GM I have come across has had problems with that inline fuse holder. They cant handle the current of the blower and the contacts in the holder start heating up and eventually blowing the fuse. This is a deteriorating cycle as the holder eventually starts melting the plastic holder which reduces the contact pressure the holder can place on the new fuse which makes more head, etc...

Follow the instructions above as far a corrosion and tests but in addition if you are still running the old glass inline Fuse I highly recommend that you replace it with a high quality blade type fuse holder that can handle the current long term.

Cheers,
Rufus
