I have Dana 70 and 14 Bolt rear axles in several of my trucks. I've always had problems with the rear drum seals leaking due to wear on my axle spindles. A while back someone posted a part number for a Reddi-Sleeve by National, # 99202. This is a little sleeve that slips over the spindle where the seal rides. I've tried several shops but have been told the part is on back order with no due date or that the part no longer exists.

Anyone know where I can get this, or, if there is another brand or model number for this part?

Thank,

Eric M.

The speedy sleeve (made by Chicago Rawhide) for a FF 14 bolt is [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]CR#99282

I don't know if 70's use the same seal/spindle size or not :dunno:

i work at napa, ive heard of them before but i was never able to find anything on them...maybe theres something stuck to ur spindle that is ripping it,sand where it sits with some really fine sand paper, this sounds kind of stupid and i dont know if it would last but maybe put a thin layer of gasket goopy junk and let it dry, it might make a little cushion for the seal, other then that, i dont know man....

maybe that # is no longer good. I use Speedi-sleeves fairly often at work. I never order by number but measure spindle, seal O.D. and what sleeve width you need (eg 1" wide sleeve)

I give those #'s to our parts guy and the speedi-sleeve and correct seal show up.

sorry I can't help you further.

As I use to say when I was younger:

You guys are D'Bomb!
Thanks, that is everthing I need to know ... and more.
Time to get my hands dirty.

I'll post up how it went or if I need more help.

Thanks again,

Eric M.

I took all the measurments from my D70 according to the chart, it's the same sleeve as the 14 Bolt (#99282). I put it on last week ... now if I can afford a tank of gas I'll start driving the truck again and see if it actually did the trick.

Thanks,

Eric M.

A little digging up old posts, but did the speedi sleeve fix the leaking? I'm considering doing the same thing to mine.

I wish I could tell you. I did the fix several months ago, but can't afford the gas for this 454 dually 4x4 - haven't driven it for more than 10 miles since.

Not sure what to tell you, I doubt I'll be driving it much ever again.

I used the CR#99282 sleeve on my old 14 bolt (both sides) and they worked like a charm. No more leaks. :thumb:
