ok my 1990 jeep yj aint starting. yeah thats right i drive a heep for my dd.:rolleyes: anyways its a 258 w/ the carter 2b carb. i was down the road from my house on some trails and i shut the thing off a few mintues after running over a really big stump. it was running fine after i was over it. i went to start it back up and nothing. just a click. got a buddy to try and jump me, nothing. volt meter shows roughly 12 volts. everything works. i installed a new starter, cleaned all connections and still nothing. im not even sure the click is from the starter. maybe a relay? im at my wits end and need this to be running for monday:o any help is appreciated guys!

even so ive tried jumping it and using other batteries and still nothing.

Tried a new starter and a different battery. Tried a remote starter switch yet, to see if it might be your ignition/starter switch (or the wiring thereto)?

try...

If you know how to,try jumping the solenoid ..that will tell you if the starter, solenoid,or the wiring is faulty...if it cranks when jumped, its probaby wiring or a blown fusible link not activating the solenoid..

ok i got to go back down today and try some more stiff. i tried to jump the terminals but im not sure i had a good connection ill check the ground again. man this is making me go nuts:o
