Does the pulley have to come off of the compressor before you can remove it from the truck? The bolts that hold the compressor to the mounting bracket hit the pulley and won't come all the way out.
x2 they can be real snug and almost have to tap them out past the pulley with the flats lined up .I am not sure what year you are talking about, but the R4 compressor mounting bolts have a flat spot that you can turn toward the pulley to help out.
Then wiggle crap around...
Without a charge the compressor won't come on
Yep, this place is awesome! Im sure Ill have more AC Q's in the future. My 89 Jimmy is the first square I have owned that still has all the AC parts, and it worked too, until recently the compressor has been whining and grinding and getting worse every day. I have no idea how the AC systems on these trucks work, but I want to learn. Hopefully mine will be back working after the charge. Already 200 bucks into this, went with a new compressor after reading bad stuff about the rebuilt ones.and fyi the flat spots line up with tabs on the bracket to help hold the bolts from spinning .
glad we could help . . . . nice friendly service with good info here at CK5
