alright, i was in the woods playin in some mud and now my truck is buried to the frame. i was trying to get out and after awhile, and all of the sudden it wouldnt go into gear, and its leaking tranny fluid as fast as i can put it in there so do you guys think that my tranny is shot, or could it be something else?

if this is an automatic. You could have blown a seal, which is causing you to lose fluid. An auto trans will not work, if there is no fluid.

Time for a 4-speed swap. I can't remember what year they started using 700R4's, but the 83 might have one, and I'll bet the 78 has a TH350.

Ya probably iether the cooler lines, dipstic tube, or vacume modulator poped off.
