I will only be running 1 battery. I plan on installing a winch and a higher output alternator in the near future.

Both of the kill switches listed below are Marine grade switches made by Blue Sea Systems and they both have the alternator protection.

The first one (red switch) is rated for 350 amps continuous.

The second one (grey one) is rated for 600 amps continuous.

The first one is about $45 cheaper that the second, would the first one be fine for my application?

the first will suit your needs... the bigger dizzle units are beefy, but a bit overkill..

that said, i'll be running the bigger one in the back of Mutt... it's just a bigger, more positive engagement due to the stoutness.. more industrial..

Guest and Perko also make switches...

Thanks for the input guys. I just order the 9004e (red one).

I wan to use it as a kill switch. Would I just hook it up to the battery, alternator and starter to do this?

Reason being that I have draw somewhere that will drain the battery if my truck sits for more than a week. Needing a temporary fix until I rewire the whole truck.

just run between the pos post and the main bat feed... chop the bat pos a foot or 2 from the bat.. put lugs on the ends, hook to switch..
