I have a 89 w/ 10 bolts. My steering is all over the place and I have been checking out crossover kits. The two I have been looking at, offroad design and offroad unlimited, have pros and cons but I am leaning twards the unlimited cause of the passenger knuckle is cast iron, instead of trying to get and pay for a knuckle that needs modification. Trouble is that the unlimited kit says its for a 6 inch lift and I only have a 4 inch lift, I have already replaced the stock crossmember with offroad designs' HD crossover, I guess I would like to know if this kit will still work with the smaller lift since the crossmember wont be in the way (in a perfect world). Suggestions? Also, I dont know if I should pop for the PSC gear box and a HD pump or just get the Napa box. I know a 10 bolt probably isnt worth it but most other options are pricey and its my daily driver. Thanks for any input:smokin2:

More info: Im only running 35's, Im not locked, didnt have much interest in going too much bigger (its all jeep trails in colorado)

I have the same set-up as you. Went with BRC Motor sports high-steer and it works great.
Keep in mind, because of the 4" suspension, whatever crossover you go with you'll be changing out your engine cross member too.

Sorry I guess it makes more sense that it is steel. I have aready replaced the stock engine cross member, it looks like there will be no interference so I wont need the bent drag link. I dont know if the steering arm on the new knuckle will be located higher because it is designed for a bigger lift,? will it bind up?

Not true at all, I ran a very flexy 4" lift for a long time with no problems.

I now run the same crossover with 3-4" less ride height (i.e. close to stock ride height) and I still don't have issues (though I do have to run bumpstops).

ORD bent draglink/crossover, btw.

Sorry to jump in...Do you have to remove the sway bar? I have been considering doing a crossover as well but do most of the driving on the street and would like to retain my sway bar...

Crossover steering interferes with the stock sway bar, so no you can't have both.

I'm running my Suburban without a sway bar and some sh!tty shocks up front, and it's fine. The only time I notice it is when you hit a big dip or hole really fast, then it wobbles a hair. 6 months lifted and I don't even notice it anymore.

It definitely rode much better.

Ive had my truck for 7 years and have never ran a sway bar, but to be honest Ive been dealing with the suicide steering the whole time. I dont think it is nessary for street driving. I am going to go for the offroad unlimited crossover... the cast knuckle is the item that Im sold on....very cool.
