Need help fast! Trancefer case fluid type

1986 chevy 1/2 ton with manual tranny. Don't know what x-case it is. But the housing is aluminum. What fluid to put in it? ear oil, or tranny fluid?

Isn't there a red circular tag on the back face of the case? If it's a 208 it takes ATF. The others, I'm not sure......

if housing is aluminum its a 208...just put regular atf in it
