Appears to go from the intake manifold to the brake booster. Anyone know the name of this pipe/hose... and where to find a replacement?

I snapped it this morning at the orange circle, and looked all over trying to find the name or replacement info.

Thanks!

Is there a flexible connection somewhere between that pipe and the booster? Should be to allow for engine movement...Havent' noticed any co's making them though...how bout a salvage yard?

Yup there is a flexible connection. Every salvage yard in this area is picked clean.

I'm thinking of running a stiff rubber vacuum hose up to the booster. Anyone think this is a bad idea? I know it would work, but what would I be sacrificing... this is the brakes we are talking about here.

Mines rubber hose all the way. Never had an issue. If you have an industrial supply store in your area, they can make one.

Thats just a hard line for vacumn to the booster. If you cant find one, unscrew the fitting from the intake and replace it with a hose fitting from the auto parts store and run a rubber vacumn line to the booster. Or, cut it off about an inch from the fitting and clamp a rubber hose on and run it to the booster.

Most of the older carbed engines just used a brass adapter that is 1/4 NPT on one side that threads into the intake and the other side had an inverted female flare for 3/8" steel tube, and used about a foot of rubber hose to go from the tube,to the check valve on the brake booster...it was thick walled hose that would not collapse easily...I dont see why you cant use a brass adapter and the steel tubing along with a short hunk of the proper hose to fix that...

You could take it off and have it brazzed too. If you're gonna put just a soft line I would recommend you plug that hole and run your hose from the back of the intake from one of the ports. It will be much cleaner.
