Need help Identifying this toolbox.

Our new guy at work thought he had a Snap on toolbox. He asked our snappy guy to replace some of the slides and it turns out that it isn't a snap on box.

Any idea what this box is? I'm thinking Mac. And old.

Old Mac/Matco. Looks like a real old Matco box, but so old that it was back when we made Mac's boxes...

I think its an old Mac road service box. But real old like maybe mid 70's

Looks very similar to my waterloo box at work. I don't know how old the box at work is but i do know that it's at least 25 years old. I've also heard that waterloo makes box's for alot of other people so who knows.

Ya those drawer handles scream waterloo only thing is they usually have a badge on the front somewhere

lots of craftsman boxes are waterloo.

if he has a slide out see if its the same as a craftsman.

looks like a waterloo, could be an old cornwell, waterloo, mac... late 60s early 70s probably

honestly with the age of it, I'd say he is **** out of luck for slides, no matter who made it.

Snap on guy thought it was waterloo also. He's trying to find parts for it.

I offered to buy it from him for 50$ but he said no. Snap on offered him 500$ trade in on a new box. I can't compete with that price. He bought it at a garage sale for 40$ so he was making a profit.

yeah, a box that old, he should step up and buy a new(er) box anyways... the technology is so old in that box.. new(er) boxes have better sized drawers to accomodate... and yes, he is probably SOL on those slides

The box he was looking at on the truck was only 2000, with the 500 for his trade in, it was only going to be 13$ a week. I told him he could pay 30 and prob have it paid off in less than a year. And pay minimal interest.

I want his old box so I can repaint it and store machining tooling and tools in it. The skinny drawers would be perfect for that.

Shoot Ive got a el cheapo Clarke HD for $300 at Menards...its got some nice deep drawers too. My Snapon 4850 Impact Case Fits in one perfect

I like the deep drawers on my snap on box. But for my machinist tools I want lots of skinny drawers. Tallest machining tools I own are my height guage and step blocks. 6" tall max. I can put those in the top.

None of this really matters. He's not sellin and I couldn't fit another box in my shop unless I freed up some wallspace. And thats not gonna happen.

I really need to hit the lottery so I can build a garage mahal. Then I'd call my snappy dealer and tell him to bring the industrial catalog to me, and a notepad. I think I could spend $100,000 on toolboxes.

It looks a lot like my waterloo if the paint is smooth I say Waterloo. I bought mine around 1979 the key was a square type head small and silver.

Yeah you can. Talk to the Snap-On guy. What is he going to do with that old tool box but junk it? Offer the Snap-On guy $50 for it.

Don't offer more than $100. He just doesn't want the other guy to see how little he actually cares for the box. If someone offered me $50 for that thing I'd jump on it, ha.
