Now that we have some sunny weather around here, I spent today looking over my '71 Blazer that i got at Carlisle this past weekend. There are a couple of wire connectors that i cant figure out where they go. Can anyone advise what these two wire connectors are for?

This one is under the dash just right of center:

Can anybody tell me what this wire coming out of the firewall is for? It seems to have overheated and burned through the insulation at one point.

Also. is there supposed to be another wire going to the choke on the side of the carb? It has a blade terminal for a positive wire but the PO had no wire connected.

I am no good at electrical, and my truck is not here for me to look at my choke. But....Some of that burnt up looking wiring you got going on looks terrifying.

If there are lots of areas where the wires look that bad, you may want to look into a new harness.

Cruze thru google or something and find a wiring diagram, they list colors and locations. If you can wait I will go crawl under mine and see what falls out...

The last picture looks like it MIGHT go to the heater blower behind the glove box or the controls for the heater. As far as the others ??????????? It's a crap shoot you will need to chase them out to know for sure.

Pic #1: I assume that is on driver's side of engine. Did they switch to one wire alternator setup and is that the old plug for the alternator?

Pic #2 and #3: The only plug I find with that layout, only 3 wires is for the horn relay on the interior of the vehicle.

Pic #4: Tan wire goes to the brake warning switch. I guess maybe they are talking about what is connected to dashboard dummy light that says brake?? On the inside of the vehicle it goes to the ignition switch connector and from there goes to the cluster connector.

Pic #5 sorry no help

Got these answers from wiring diagram from Haynes manual

My alternator has several wires coming out of the back.

My steering wheel is cracked in several places on the hub, so there is no center to blow the horn, but when i ground the spring coming out, i hear the relay click and the horn sound.

Yeah, this is the case. The rubber boot connector with the wire is hanging off the brake diverter near the master cylinder. It is all burnt, so the PO must have just pulled it off and left it hanging there.

Thanks for the help.

This will probably help a lot.....

These might be really helpful too..... found over on the 67-72 Board. They've been posted for quite a while now, so I feel quite certain they're accurate.
