What does the white box control?

So the mixer door in the box the linkage that opens the door to the different positions is broke. What the hell would you call that so i could get a new part?

And the last one is just showing that this crappy wiring under the dash from the PO is a fire hazard waiting to happen.

white box is your speedo calibration box. and needs to be cliped in to the bracket just under the radio on the back side of the dash. i have a few extra's

i modify those to be fully adjustable.

and the rest looks like custom wire junk.

Thanks. Ya junk is right there is atleast 3 or more splices on every single wire that has any thing to do with the stereo. SO GHETTO! Oak texted me and said that his chiltions book just calls the whole assembaly for the mixer door a "shaft". Thing is Im not even sure how the white peice is held into the door. If it was held in by just the screw it would be too flexy so Im thinking its held in by a snap or something.

Also the cable that rolls the rear window up and down broke on me yesterday. Looking in LMC its 29.95. Looking in Classic parts it is 62.95. Any one have any experiance with eather one?

No, but the one from Classic might be GM, alot of the parts I have got from them where. Most of the parts I got from LMC where aftermaket some where good , most where just ok.

I might try the Chevy Dealership here some of the older posts were saying it was about 30 bucks from the parts counter.

LOL i just called Davis moore here in Wichita and they want 86 bucks... WTF are they smoking at these places. He even said they are not a special order item.

Yup I found out last year working on mine that when you can get GM part for these things now that some of the parts are getting high priced.

Screw it Im just going to order it from GMpartsdirect.com its OEM and its 38 bucks. seems like a win win. Would get one from a salvage yard but the one I go to has nothing but barn door burbs.

Ok so Ive been looking for two days and I cannot find this clevis. I went and got a threaded door lock peice but the shaft is way too big. I cant find it on classic or LMC. HELP ME :(

The only thing bad I have found about them is their shipping cost are high. I think that is where they they make some of their money back for the parts being cheaper.

I have found the little white piece that hooks to the door at the dealer - just a couple of bucks.

That might be a junk yard part. I was thinking you need the rod at first, and classic has it.

no rod is ok I need the plastic part in the rear that the rod sits in. I guess i could just epoxy the rod into the holder.
