I installed new body mounts and a 1" body lift on my 78 K10. The transmission linkage is too short now, and I need to lenthen it. Is the best way to cut it and weld in another piece? If I do that, should I use some threaded rod, then weld on a nut on one end so that I can adjust it?

Thanks for any help!

you should have more than enough room to adjust it. down near the tranny is where you adjust it. loosen the bolt and put both tranny in park and selsector in park then tighten bolt.

Does the part that the screw goes in (where it attaches to the transmission), move down? I cleaned it up, and worked with it for a while, but it didn't seem to want to move. Do I just need to be more persuasive?
