need help on things to look for on my search for a truck

Iv been lookin for a c10 or a c20 for a while and my girlfriend told me she saw one on her way home from school. So today I stoped over there and looked at it. the big thing im worried about is rust. The cab an front end had no rust at all on it. The bed is going to need to be replaces cus is was rusty and has a wood bed which the boards are all worped. So i got under and looked at the frame, there was no spots on the frame where the rust ate thew the frame but how do i tell if the rust is just surface rust or if it is bad enough that it would need to be repaired. Next thing is once i get the truck down to the frame how do i take care of all the rust to prepaire it for paint and make sure its strong enough.

buy a truck from the south or the southwest.

wont have to worry too badly about rust. the money you save not repairing the rust will pay for the trip.

Ok I took pics of the frame, the front of the frame isnt rusted at all but the part thats under the bed is rusted there pics on my webshots http://community.webshots.com/album/549683357eHcRPS how would i go about removing that rust?
