need help quick plz

I need help my distributor is making a loud poping sound and when i touch the #3 clinder wire on the distributor it shocks the crap out of me. I have tried changing plug wires and it still does it. I havent takein it out yet but am about to is there anything i need to look at or is just time for a new one.

Have you pulled and inspected the cap itself for cracks?

well i found my problem pulled the cap off and clinder 3 cap plug was broke. i have no clue to how that could of happened its alomst a brand new cap maybe 2,500 miles on it, and my rotor waz all burnt up. well i guess of to orileys foe new cap and rotor
