Need help setting up my new tbi stroker?

Ok so I will change my current 180* high flow T stat for a regular 195*. Yes I do have headers but like I said before the 02 sensor is a new heated three wire so I still dont think that is the problem. Do you think that I should drop my FP down even more before I have a new chip burned? Also no it hasnt been backfiring through the intake.
 
Eh, if you've got a heated O2, then I'm going to have to go with probably not the problem. Is it a Delco or Bosch? (If Bosch, well, still might be a problem lol) You probably are simply running rich. (yes, I missed the previous part wher eyou mention heated O2)

You are dealing with TBIchips.com, right? Does he not have any input on your datalogs and combination? If it's TBIchips.com, I guarantee he has more experience with this stuff than any of us, and if you give him all the details, (fuel pressure, injectors, etc) then he should be able to fix these for you.

I mean, that IS what you are paying for by having a chip burned, is it not? If he can't work with your fuel pressure or whatever, then he should say so. It would seem unlikely that what's going on was caused by lack of knowledge on the chip burners part.

Yes I'm dealing with tbichips.com but Brian gets swamped sometimes and can take a few day to get back to me. I'm just trying to get all the bugs worked out on my end like fuel pressure and running temp before I send him the data. I want to get the blazer running as good as I can before I send him my chip back to get reburned.
 
Gotcha...throwing in a 195 stat is going to help all the way around, as long as he didn't burn your current one for a 160.

With the right size injector and programming, I don't believe bumping the pressure up over stock is necessary. It's more a band-aid fix for undersized injectors or lack of desire to tune. Are you running injectors that are capable of flowing what your engine needs?

Injectors are rated at a certain pressure. The ECM "knows" how much fuel will be injected based on how long it keeps the injectors open, because the lb/hr is set in the chip. If you increase the pressure on the same injectors, you essentially increase the lb/hr, and the ECM doesn't expect the extra fuel.

If you run (for instance) 55lb/hr injectors, Brian should set the chip for 55lb/hr injectors, and that would be exactly right at *stock* fuel pressure. Really just depends on the injectors, and comes down to them being sized just right. Too much or too little and there are problems.
 
Just got a email back from Brian and he said that the engine was running pretty good from the data logs I sent him. He did say it was running a little rich but not to bad, also he didnt think there was any problems with the 180*T stat I have in it. He is burning me another chip as we speak and all I have to do is send him the old one once I get the new one in (no extra charge). He also wants me to keep giving him more datalogs when I get the new chip in just to make sure its running its best. The blazer seems to be running better and better the more I drive it. Some of the problems could just be that I havnt put enough miles on it for the computer to catch up to the changes. Plus the engine still only has about 450 total miles on it since I swaped it in.
 
Make sure your plugs are good too...if you were/are running rich, they could be fouled and may be contributing a bit.

It's obviously not "off the map" bad, good to hear he keeps in touch with customers. Definitely more good than bad heard about tbichips.com

Yeah that is the problem some people have is they make changes to their system and dont give the ECM time to learn the new changes. Then they make more adjustments and things just get out of wack.
I have found it takes around 20 miles or so of all around driving for the ECM to learn changes in fuel pressure and timing. Also it learns faster if you reset the ECM and dump the old data after FP/timing changes are made.
