Need help to ID transfer case

What kind of transfer case is this?

Is it stronger then a NP205? Can it bolt up to a chevy engine?

I believe that is a rockwell T223 for a 2.5 ton truck. They are divorce mounted so you would need a 2wd transmission. That t-case weighs around 300 lbs

If your breaking NP205s they may be other issues to look at.

Looks like a Transfer case from a 2-1/2 ton (Deuce and a half) military truck. Definitely is an older one, as the manufacturer is REO, which is from the late 60's-early 70's. After that AM general took over the contract.

Good Transfer case, way over built, way, way bigger than anything you will use you 4x4, for. But, thats a good thing right?

It's a divorced unit, so I'd go for it, if the price is something you can live with.
