Ok well just got done installing my new tranny from bowtie overdrives(700r):D and that went easy, but am having a hell of a time getting the T-Case(NP 208) up there to mate w/ the tranny.

Is there an easy way to do this w/ just two people. Can I remove the jack from the tranny or does it still need to be supported:confused: ?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated:bow:

Need to support the tranny, but you can use anything to do that. You just need to keep from hitting the firewall with the distributor.

I grab the right length of wood to prop the trans up. With tight motor mounts, it doesn't tend to move very much, so the wood stays pretty stable.

take a pic of what you are working with. the back of the tranny should be supported by the adapter and crossmember. I can heft a 208 into place myself. just lay under the truck, roll it on your chest and benchpress it into place. the splines in the input will hold the front while one hand holds the rear. install any bolt you can get your hands on and your good from there.

If you have the adapter bolted to the t-case and are trying to mate the assembly to the trans you will have a nightmare on your hands. its too many variables. the trans can move and so can the t-case.

I know its a little late now but couldnt you just attach the t-case to the trans before you swapped it in ? or is there something in the way that you couldnt. havent dropped a trans/tcase on a 4x4 yet so not sure of the details. might be a little less headache to put it all up in 1 piece

If you dont mind me asking, what level trans did you buy to put in your truck? was thinking about buying one from them instead of gettin mine rebuilt.
about the same price for one of theirs and getting mine rebuilt

Well yeah the adapter is still installed on the T-case and I've gotten myself kinda stuck now and might need some more people now.

Shifty K5 I got the level 2, I'll let you know how it works if I ever get my T-case back in, the trans went in too easy so something had to give me trouble
