A friend gave me his old brake controller when he bought his new truck. He bought a new controller for the new truck.

Its a Drawtite Activator II.

I have a 2005 Chevy Avalanche. I have the pigtail (plug and play) that goes under the dash.

There ae 4 wires on the back of the controller.
Black
White
Blue
Red

There are 5 wires on the pig tail for the plug and play.
They are labeled: DK Blue- brake controller switched output
Red - trailer brake controller fused battery feed
Black - brake controller ground
LT Blue- vehicle Stop lamp switch to brake controller input
Brown - brake Controller Illumination

I dont have the wiring diagram from drawtite that tells what wire goes where.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Bruiser

The fifth wire , Brown , sounds like power for some lighting on the controller itself , not all have backlit displays or other fancy features , that would go to your dimmer switch .

found it :

yours won't use the brown . and DO NOT connect the BLACK of the controller to the black on the pigtail , black is 12 v pos on the controller .

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.:bow::bow: I did several searches and found nothing but the drawtite website and that was useless.

That is exactly what I needed. Thanks again.
