My chain started making noise in my 203 soo i decided it was going to look in to it and a i pulled it out and took it all apart and for sure it was the chain. I gots a 205 thats just bagging to be put in but im wondering what is the low gear ratio is it close enough that i wont notice it and i think i have to buy and adapter for it is was bolted to a manual and i have a th400 soo im pretty sure i havent counted the spines or seen if it was a long or short input shaft

Low range is 1.96:1 in the 205
A 203 is like 2.03:1
The manual should have a 10 spline input, not sure about your 400 (32 spline or 27 spline, some one who knows will chime in). When I converted to a 205 from the 203 I swapped in a manual/205 set up I bought.

The TH400 has 32 spline output, the early SM465 has a 10 spline output, so if your 205 came from a 10 spline SM465 you will need to have someone bore the case and install the short 32 spline input gear and bearing then also find the adapter for a TH400/205.

thanx guys good to know wut im getting into and wut to look for had some idea but now alot clearer
