I am doing the 89-91 blazer front clip on my 87 pickup and have a question for someone who has done this before. My current setup has the two headlights and my new setup has four. I just noticed that the new headlight harness that I got has 9 wires in it and my old harness has 7. I am figuring that the 2 extra wires are for the 2 extra headlights but does anyone know what wires are spliced to what and how to hack in the two extra wires to my current harness coming out of the firewall? BTW the newer harness was cut off its original application and there is no plug on it so I was guessing that I have to cut the old one out and splice it in and thats where I am having trouble.

Thanks

Andy

where did you get that harness. those colors dont match any gm harness. gm would have light green tan and black. and those would have the black wires grounded and the tan and green would be spliced togather to create two headlights on each side. Your black is definately a ground. but the rest according to my knowlege the blue is a power window wire and the red are switched hot wires and brown is a tailight wire. and none of those but the ground fit your app.

i just test lighted my old 2 headlight stuff and found ground and high low. then matched it up with the new and dubbled the grounds up. works fine to this day.

i thought 89-91 were the same as the old ones?? i did the 2 big headlights to four and all i had to do was change the wire plug off the firewall??

you got me the tan green and black wires are for the headlights, the blue wires are for the turn signals I dont remember which ones were which but that is why you have a friend and a test light, after all thats how we installed harnesses when i was in high school.
