OK, here's the deal. I got a holly 2bbl tbi unit in a pile of parts I purchased. I really have no use for it and would like to sell it to someone who needs one. The problem is I do not know the specific application it's for. I looked on Holley's website and all their replacement part numbers are 502-X. There is no 502 number stamped on this thing anywhere. Anyone out there have a fool proof way of identifiying these things? I may end up calling Holley, but thought I'd give the CK5 brotherhood a shot at it first.

Thanks!
Rich

Measure the bore diameter and we can at least tell you if it is a stock size or not. 1 11/16" is a SBC TBI and 2" is a BBC TBI.

Ok, well the bores measure 2" so assuming you are right that would make this a BBC unit. That would pretty much mean 454 I think, I don't think Chevy ever had any other tbi big block.

I just checked Holley's site again, all their tbi units use a 2" bore, even the 2.8L model. Back to square one.

Well i'm in Holley's book and the 502-3 which is a 2.8 V/6 uses a 1.38" throttle bore, then the 502-4,502-5,502-6,502-7,502-8 they use a 2" throttle bore.

Thanks again. With no usable numbers stamped on it I think I'm going to have to call them direct. Maybe they can give me some info and numbers for injecter size that will help out.

Do the injectors have any numbers on them or color coded maybe?

Under the electrical connections they're red and have the numbers 250R 51AA and 0965-838 on them

Got a Pic? Holley sells two types of TBIs. Direct stock replacement and units to be used with a Holley ECU. They are not interchangeable. What does the wiring look like? Also any idea how old it is? I know they have changed thier design at least once. Are the tops of the injectors black domes (older) or electrical connectors (newer)?

Chris, that's the basic unit.

BGKYK5, Not sure on the age, but the top of the injectors has the black dome.

I called Holley this morning, for anyone following this thread what I found out was the number 80405 cast into the top of the body correlates to a PN 502-6 which is a direct replacement 670cfm TB for an 87-89 5.7 liter. That's what will be for sale in the classifieds in about 5 minutes

Thanks to all for the help! :D
