Its a 1998 chevy 350 4x4 4l60 e transmission So my problem is i need to replace my flexplate, I know i only need to move the tranny back about 2 inchs so im not going to take the whole thing out, My problem is i cant seperate the transmission from the engine i used my prybar tried wd 40 and wiggling th **** out of it any suggestions and yes i did remove all 6 studs holding to the engine and the 3 torque converter bolts.thanks for your help

Did you remove the tranny mount bolts at the crossmember?

The weight of the transfer case is probably anchoring it..I'd put the two bolts back in the "foot" that holds the transfer case to the crossmember and unbolt the crossmember, after putting a floor jack under it--not a bad idea to wrap a chain around the jack plate & crossmember and bolt it together for safety....then its usually easier to get the tranny to come off the dowel pins and roll everything back --but be aware the tranny might want to do a nosedive,or tip upwards suddenly,be ready for that and stay clear!..

I was wondering about that i figured if i took the crossmember off it would slide off the dowel pins easier, Ill try that tommorow and let you know if it works unless it rains. Thanks for the info greatly appreciate it.I been trying really hard to get this off and I thought maybe the block and tranny where rusted together. Thanks again
