first off, sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, im pretty new here lol

but my problem is that my back window wouldnt roll down. in the process of taking the top off to see if it had just shifted it shattered. so my question is what year blazer windows will fit a 91 gmc jimmy? will the motor also work from any k5/jimmy? thanks for all the help in advance

73-91 will fit.

First tip I have is remove the inner panel before trying anything else. There is a cable that runs the window regulator and you can use a cordless drill/driver to roll the glass down manually. Just disconnect the drive cable and chuck it in your drill driver. Go slow to make sure you're driving it the right direction. At that point the gate can be dropped and better diagnostics can be done.

while we are on the topic. Will the manual components of my 76 k5 tailgate work on my 91 burb tailgate. I'd like to do a manual swap on it.

No Subs and Blazers are totally different in the regulators. The Sub has a smaller window, and that makes for less overall travel. I have a power Sub window regulator and motor sitting in my garage that will probably never get used, simply because I pulled it out of a Sub that was going into the Demo Derby. That's when I found out how different they are.

thanks for the info on the windows, any tips on finding one? and then installing it? what should i expect to pay for the rear window? any ideas? thanks again

Check the classifieds here under general parts. If you don't see anything, make a parts wanted ad in the parts wanted section, and / or the regional forum that you're physically closest to.

I have a spare rear window here, they're not worth much.

Installing it should be come a lot more clear to you once you remove that panel and remove the busted glass and lower sash that is still inside your own tailgate.
