my sm465/205 tranny makes a grind/rattle in 3rd gear about a 1/4 in to the throttle and it is like a ping rattle any advise would be of help and also any advise on rebuilding one or manual. Thanks
Its caused by either a worn coupling sleeve between the 465/205 or (more likely) from a driveline vibration, even if you can't feel it.
A lifted truck with a 465/205 without a cv rear driveshaft will pretty much make that noise, its basically the gears in the trans/t-case bouncing off of each other unless the truck is accelerating/decelerating.
bb 67 sounds like the syncro gears are going out.very common on the 465.haveto pull top cover to look at the top end gears and see what they look like.c dogg sounds like the throwout bearing on yours.maybe someone else has anether opinion.sounds can be deceiving though.you may think its in the tranny and could very well be transfer case related.
The blaze has a cv drive shaft and has been fine i drive 98-125 miles a day for work in the oil patch and just started yesterday and had all fluid checked and toped if low not.

Yeah that's where I'm stuck right now. Not sure if it's the t-case or the tranny and I haven't had the time or motivation to look closely at either one.
