need help with tailgate adjustment

I replaced the tailgat on my 79 with one from an 85. The new one doesn't want to close all the way, are they different or am I not paying attention to some adjustment?

The latch pins on the body are adjustable.....just loosen one and you'll catch on really quick.....piece 'o cake to adjust.....

Stuck?...Hell no..I still got some gas left..
