I'm trying to change the filter in my '89 with a 700r4 trannsmission. I have removed the pan and pulled the old filiter. I noticed that the new filter has an oring on the neck and the one I removed doesn't. I look into the hole where the filler neck goes and I see an o-ring in there. It's the from the old filter and it's stuck in the tranny. My question is how do I get the old o-ring out of the tranny?

a long strewdriver and patients, once you get it to move its easy. or if somehow you can get it to turn sideways, then use some needle nose pliers to get it out.

a pair of snap ring plyers or a pair of needle plyers will do the job just be careful that you do not scrach the metal because that can cause problems and make sure you get it all out because if left in the seal can kill the tranny
