I have a 82 k5 and the body is really rough. I have bought another k5 (just frame and tub) i am trying to figure the weight of just the tub. I have stripped everything from it, doghouse, doors tailgate, interior, gas tank etc. Does anyone know that approximate weight? Or even better about how many buddies i need to lift the tubs? Lol

I've seen this discussion on here before and iirc no absolute number was agreed upon, only guesses. I can't give you an exact number either but I just loaded mine on a trailer and took it to a shop. I used my small tractors loader which is not supposed to be able to lift over 800lbs. 4 guys should be able to lift it. Hopefully someone who has weighed one will chime in

I never weighed it but we were 4 guys pulling it off then putting it back on.
If you have 6 it would be easier putting 2 in front 2 at the door and 2 in the back.
The front part is heavier than the back

Just lifting it or moving it,pulling off a trailer and moving it in the grage ,go to harber freight, get some blow up 8"wheels bolt to the frame and pull it with Moorer, m2w

I asked the weight of the tub on k5 and I guess I should have really just asked best way to swap out the tub with little to no help or money.
