Right now, in front of me is a catalog of the Black Diamond U-bolts. I have 2 options.

4WD 1/2 Ton Pickup, Blazer, Jimmy (2-3/4 front axle) 73-87
4WD 1/2 Ton Pickup, Blazer, Jimmy (3 front axle) 73-87

I have a 88 with a 10-bolt front. What do I order.

I wish I just could take my old U-bolts and go to the place to fit them, but they don't have um on stock.

Thanks in advance.

If you can get the actual dimensions of the U-bolt, you will need a 5/8" diameter bolt, with a 3" ID between the legs with a length of 8". The one that goes around the differential housing will be a 5/8" diameter, 3.25" between the legs, and 10" long.
(3) 5/8" x 3" x 8" U-bolts
(1) 5/8" x 3.25" x 10" U-bolts

I couldnt find a 10" locally, so I bought a 12" and after it was installed, I cut off about 2" with a torch.

Hope this helps.

Is it possible that the D44 that to my best of knollage used to be standard in the front before the 10bolts, is 2-3/4 inch across. I guess for a relation between your mentioned 3 inch, and the 3 in the last U-bolt kit I mentioned.

The D44 was used as a front axle prior to the 10 bolts, but both of these axles use the same U-bolts.

I would say youre correct kit would be the 3" kit you mentioned.
