Need help with wireless remote

I lost my MM wireless remote last week and had to buy a new one(and a spare).When I ordered the guy told me that they don't program them because they have internal dip switches and you can do it yourself.I didn't think much of it until I got the replacement,opened it up only to realize I couldn't figure out how the serial number of the reciever translates into 3-position dip switches.Has anyone had to program a replacement or know how?BTW,that inexpensive setup from MM works great.It's controlling a Warn 12,000 and works just fine.
