NEED HELP .....

Absolutely necessary? No but they’re a good idea. Lots of trucks running around without them because they were tossed during a repair but they go a long way towards tying the assembly together and bracing the trans.

GM put them on most, if not all, 4wd’s from around 78/79+. Verify your trans will accept them before you spend any money.

Are these needed? I don't have these on mine. Do I need to start searching for another random hard to find part? Ha
Your torque converter cover mounting point on the bottom of the trans neck should have these thick mounting bosses ( three on each side ) casted into it so the cover can bolt up.
The older cases were not cast with these ( they just used a tin cover with small mounting hardware ) and are a thinner casting in the whole neck area.
Some folks have drilled the older cases for the cover with mount bosses but that might not be a good idea as the trans itself needs to be beefed up to make it a successful upgrade.
I hope ya got the HD case - it’s a worthy upgrade for any 4WD that sees beyond street duty.

I am at work so I can't double check. But let's say I don't have these reinforcement areas. What are the alternatives?

The side bar/strut for the transfer case to bell housing bolt location is just about the best option to do on any set up - even if there are no provisions for the torque converter cover to motor mount bars.
This piece is the most effective of any of the trans/T-case bracing options!

Joel since your Trans is hurt, if you don't have a 6 bolt cover case start looking for 1 of these.

There is an empty case with good lugs on ebay for $430 something. I'd check the wrecking yards.
You'll need the matching cover, rods, and engine mount brackets

Looks like a lot of weight is still not on the front springs.
Get that shaft shortened. If it bottoms out you'll break something, mostly likely your transmission case.
Wait till it's all together. Then measure for adjustment, use the instructions at Tom's driveshaft or Denny's driveshaft. Then have a local shop do the work

I can't tell for sure, but those look like stock springs. Wonder whats different the drive shaft is to long ?
