Need info help...

...for my dad.

He bought a '97 Chevy crew cab dually 1 ton 4x4 and wants to know of any place on the web to get info on the trucks specs, such as spark plugs, oil, filters, etc. In other words, pretty much the stuff the truck came with from the factory.

I'm gonna see if I can get him to switch over to the synthetic oils.

What can anybody tell me as far as the factory stuff goes?
And then what can anybody tell me for the best synthetic oils?

I'm not sure if its a diesel or not,,, but at <a target="_blank" href=http://www.thedieselpage.com>www.thedieselpage.com</a> they have major discussions regarding synthetic oils....

we use synthetic in our '01...but its also the "gm recommended oil"....and I don't want to end up with any warranty issues down the road....

They may even have forums for regular gas truck there, though I haven't paid much attention to it...
